The client faced several critical logistical challenges at their US-based facility that required a specialized lifting solution:

  • Lack of Indoor Space: The existing warehouse layout was fully optimized, leaving no room for an internal cargo lift installation. An external, outdoor solution was the only viable option.

  • Harsh Outdoor Environment: The lift needed to operate reliably under diverse weather conditions, including heavy rain, fluctuating temperatures, and wind, which posed risks of corrosion and electrical failure to standard equipment.

  • Heavy Load Requirements: The facility required a consistent 5-ton (5000kg) lifting capacity to handle heavy palletized goods and machinery components during high-frequency daily cycles.

  • Safety and Security: As an outdoor installation, the lift required a fully enclosed structure to prevent unauthorized access, ensure operator safety, and protect goods from the elements during transit.

  • Stringent Compliance: The equipment had to meet specific US safety standards and local building codes for outdoor industrial machinery.

Solution

To address the client’s complex requirements, Gradin engineered a high-performance Customized 5T Outdoor Enclosed Cargo Lift with the following technical features:

  • All-Weather Protective Enclosure: We designed a full-height steel cladding enclosure with a weather-resistant coating. This structure protects the lifting platform and the cargo from rain, wind, and debris, ensuring 24/7 operational availability in the US outdoor climate.

  • Heavy-Duty Hydraulic System: The lift is equipped with dual high-precision hydraulic cylinders and a reinforced steel platform, specifically engineered to maintain structural integrity and stability while handling consistent 5,000kg loads.

  • Space-Optimized External Installation: Our engineering team designed a self-supporting structure that was anchored to the building’s exterior wall, eliminating the need for internal modifications and maximizing the client’s existing indoor warehouse space.

  • Advanced Safety Interlocks: The solution includes multi-level mechanical and electrical interlocks. The lift will only operate when all enclosure doors are fully closed and locked, providing maximum safety for operators and preventing unauthorized access.

  • Corrosion-Resistant Finish: All structural components underwent a specialized sandblasting and multi-layer industrial paint process to prevent rust and corrosion, significantly extending the equipment’s lifespan in an outdoor environment.

  • Smart Control System: We integrated a user-friendly PLC control system with digital floor indicators and emergency stop buttons at every level, ensuring precise leveling and ease of operation.
